Theatre Makeup Workshops

Learn the basic techniques of design and application of theatre makeup for the stage.  This is a practical workshop that covers new topics each meeting and includes SFX makeup.  This creative class is fun for both boys and girls.  Come dressed in work clothes as makeup may stain fabrics.  Bring your camera to document each step and use for your own Portfolios.  

Please read our rules and policies before registering for a class.

Registration will begin August 1, 2011 for the Fall Session and January 6, 2011 for the Spring Session.

Registration:

Please submit the online registration form.  You will be notified via email if you have obtained a class slot. Once you have received the confirmation email, please pay tuition in full within 24 hours to secure your class slot.  Non-payment will forfeit your class participation and the slot will be given to the next student in line.

Requirements:

To attend you must prepay your class fee in full by credit card via our PayPal link or check/cash at the theatre.  Kits and/or special makeup need to be ordered in advance.  See registration deadline for each session.  Students are to supply their own basic makeup kit.  All of KUDOS’ production students already own the basic supplies.  If you don’t already have a basic makeup kit see the shopping list below.

"Middle Earth"

CLASS IS FULL

Create a new creature each class meeting and learn how to work with crepe hair, elf ears, scar wax and professional creme makeup.

Each student will need to bring in his or her own basic makeup kit.  All of KUDOS’ production students already own the basic supplies.  If you don’t already have a basic kit, see the list to the left.

A SFX  Makeup Kit will be purchased for each student.  All makeup and tools will be yours to keep. 

2012 Spring Schedule

February 2, 16, 23 (No class February 9)

March 1, 15, 22 (No class March 8)

Fees: Class fee $60 + SFX makeup kit.  Kit ranges from $25-$33 depending if student has taken the previous SFX Makeup Class and may have left over makeup supplies. Fee due upon registration.

Zombie and Monster SFX Makeup

CLASS IS FULL

This class will cover the exciting techniques of creating realistic Zombie and Monster skin and injuries like rotting flesh, bruises, burns, gouges, wounds and scars. 

You will learn how to work with scar wax, Latex, spirit gum, faux blood, basic makeup paints and finishing tools.

Each student will need to bring in his or her own basic makeup kit.  All of KUDOS’ production students already own the basic supplies.  If you don’t already have a basic kit, see the list to the left.

A SFX Ben Nye makeup kit will be purchased for each student.  This kit contains all of your zombie goodies.  All makeup and tools will be yours to keep. 

8-19 year olds
This class will meet on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00pm.

Crème Foundation (not liquid PLEASE) Milani makes a good product found at Walgreens.

A package of white wedge sponges

Big Powder Brush

Eyeshadow in browns, crème/white highlights and blacks

Eyeshadow pallet including the colors: Greens, Blues, Purples, Grays.  Please look at Target in the ELF cosmetics.  They have good shadows with very good prices.

Eyeshadow brushes (do not rely on the sponge applicators supplied in the eyeshadow pallet)

Blush in natural colors, (tan, brownish reds)

Blush brush (not the ones that come with the blush – these are too small)

Natural lip color (a shade darker than your child’s lip color)

Crème eyeliner (not the wooden pencils, they are too hard to apply) Brown and black. 

Make up remover

Two hand towels

Hair brushes, bobby pins, hairspray, Q-tips, tissue are also helpful
 

A kit to hold it all, remember you will be adding your SFX makeup.  Get a kit large enough to hold all of your makeup.
